Last Friday, the Oakland Raiders squared off against the Green Bay Packers for the “dress rehearsal” to the regular season.  And the first thing I have to say about this whole thing is thank God that starting weak side linebacker Sio Moore is okay. After being down on the grass for so long, then taken off the field on a stretcher to the hospital, he only has a strained neck.

The reason why I say only is because it could have been and I thought it was much worse than that. After seeing him put his thumbs up, I knew it wasn’t catastrophic but wondered if he would be out for the season. I still don’t know when he plays again but it’s great that he got on the plane and flew back home with the rest of the team.

Now, lets get to the position battles that we’ve been following from the very beginning of the season. As I’ve said before, this is an unofficial scorecard as the coaches will determine the real results of these battles. There were a few players that solidified there starting positions while others were able to solidify a spot on the roster. But there were no surprises if you’ve been paying attention to the whole preseason.
