NFL football players always say, “When you look at the film, the good is never as good as you thought and the bad is never as bad. The margin for what makes a good play and a bad one is so small.” They also say, “Your team is as good as your record says you are.”

So which one is it for the Oakland Raiders?

Both.

Yes, through the first four games this season, the ineptitude of the Raiders takes me back to how bad they were in 2006. But the rest of this season isn’t as hopeless as many think because the Raiders will be a different team after the bye. There are a lot of factors that go into what makes a team good or bad and a lot of factors are changing for the Raiders.
