"C Jake Grove did not practice because of a knee injury which occured in Thursday’s practice. Kiffin said Grove would be evaluated today and Sunday. If Grove can’t play, Chris Morris would be the backup for starting center Jeremy Newberry. No announcement regarding the roster spot which opened up when defensive end Tommy Kelly was placed on injured reserve, but practice squad defensive tackle Josh Shaw has gotten the word to be prepared to be on the 53-man roster. That means Tyler Brayton, who moved inside to tackle this season, will see some time at defensive end.“That’s what so valuable about him,” “He can do both, and he doesn’t need a bunch of reps at them, and he can give us some plays at end, as he will in the game, and he can give us some plays inside.”DT Gerard Warren (quadriceps). He and LB Sam Williams (stinger) will be inactive for the fourth consecutive game.Tim Dwight will be among the 45 active players Sunday because he has to be. The Raiders have only four receivers on the roster, and Ronald Curry took it easy this week with a foot injury, although he is expected to play.“We don’t have a choice,” Lane Kiffin said. “Unless you want to have three receivers, and I don’t think anybody’s ever done that. So he’ll be up.”Dwight said he is adjusting to the new system as quickly as possible.“It’s like you know the play but when you hear it, it’s completely different, like Chinese compared to English the first couple of days,” Dwight said. “It’s getting there.”Kiffin said Dwight would be available to return punts and/or kickoffs, but wouldn’t open as the starting returner on either speciality."
