Ten With Them: Arrowhead Addict

Adam from Arrowhead Addict stopped by to answer ten quickies about the Chiefs and Raiders

1. How bad will the Michael Bennett trade affect the Chiefs chance of winning the division?

"Actually, I really always considered us longshots to win the division anyway. Kolby Smith is a more dependable, durable back, so that trade will have no bearing on the AFC West as long as he stays healthy."

2. Was giving Priest Holmes another chance/roster spot a mistake?

"No. He earned his spot and the chance to play. He’s done so much for the Chiefs that there was no way we could deny him that opportunity."

3. Let’s say LaMont Jordan and or Dominic Rhodes were cut this week, as a fan, which player, if any, would you want more?

"Dominic Rhodes. He’s a little more versatile. Plus, LaMont Jordan seems to have an attitude problem."

4. There were many rumors during the off-season about the Green Bay Packers interest in acquiring Larry Johnson (rumors that the Packers offered a first round draft pick, and fourth round pick). Are there any regrets to not accepting that trade?

"Absolutely not. Larry Johnson’s injury wasn’t a wear-and-tear one, but rather a freak occurrence. Hell, I sprained my ankle severely this summer running around on the Fourth of July. He’ll be back next season at the latest, and he’ll have a better quarterback (Brodie Croyle) and a revamped line. He’ll also be well rested"

5. After Jared Allen’s great season comes to an end, do you think the Chiefs will have the money to keep him away from other suitors? Or are there just too many other needs?

"There’s a better chance that Al Davis will live to see two more Raiders championships. No way we let him go. He’s been the best defensive player in the NFL so far. Carl Peterson has already said he’ll franchise tag him, and that’s wise. You can’t let a player like that walk. Ever. As far as pressing needs, offensive line and corner are really it, so we have the money."

6. Dick Vermeil, or Herm Edwards, who’s been the better coach? (you have to consider Edwards has worked with less talent)

"Um… I think Edwards has much more talent defensively. I don’t think I can give a fair assessment until Herm’s been here three years, so it is hard to say right now."

7. Brian Waters and Casey Wiegmann are not used to playing next to such average talent (O-Line), do you think they’ll stick around to play another possible sub-par season (for their standards)?

"I’m not sure we’ll want Casey to stick around. He’s not really cut out for a power running game because he’s undersized. Make no mistake about it, though, if they do stick around it will be alongside better talent. Peterson and Co. will not stick with this group."

8. How good could the Chiefs secondary be if they just had one really good safety to back up their already great corners? I think they’d be one of the top 5 secondaries.

"Actually, I think you are underrating our safeties and overrating our corners. Both Bernard Pollard and Jarrad Page are becoming quality safeties. I think Pollard has a shot at being a star. And Raiders fans should know all about Page. Our old corners are so slow that they are liabilities at times, especially playing alongside young safeties who get out of place now and then. We’d be screwed without the Cover 2. We will definitely have to draft a corner or tow in the upcoming draft."

9. Is Kolby Smith good enough to attack a vulnerable Raiders run-defense on Sunday?

"Definitely. He reminds me a lot of another underrated Chiefs running back — Kimble Anders. He’ll get 100-plus total yards on Sunday and a touchdown. Start him in your fantasy leagues if you have him."

10. Who will win Sunday, and what’s your final score prediction?

"The Chiefs will make it ten straight wins at Arrowhead, 31-10. I think this will be Brodie Croyle’s coming out party, and that Dwayne Bowe and Tony Gonzalez will punish the Raiders defense. Good luck. You’ll need it."
