#1 Houston Texans: Blake Bortles, QB UCF

Rory’s Take: Ok, fine, I will bite. Let’s just say the report that Bill O’Brien wants a big quarterback is true, then I for the sake of a shake-up will do this. I still see Bortles as a round two quarterback, but mocks are about looking at diverse thinking so we can roll with this for a little. Eventually when we start getting into trades things will look different.

Chase’s Take: I think Bortles gets a raw deal while Teddy Bridgewater gets elevated status while the two played in the same terrible conference this season with UCF beating Louisville on the road in both Bortles and Bridgewater’s final season. I am not as high on Bridgewater as most, and Bill O’Brien is definitely a guy who I can see wanting Bortles, but I think he would wait until later in the draft to do so as would his front office.
