#5 Oakland Raiders: Trent Murphy, DE/OLB Stan

Rory’s Take: Trent Murphy has become my number two defensive end on my board. It seems many people do not see what I see in the NCAA sack leader who is 6’6, 275 pounds, and runs a 4.7 forty yard dash. Murphy is an accomplished pass rusher and he may not be as explosive as Barr, but he is a technician. Not to mention a local boy.

Chase’s Take: Murphy plied his trade in a better conference than Khalil Mack and might have been more dominant in college the college game than Anthony Barr, but I think his lack of eye popping numbers at the combine will turn people off of his stock. I would love Murphy in another D.J. Hayden-like trade down situation because as Rory said I believe he could be a very effective pass rusher in the NFL.
