After the 2014 Senior Bowl, Just Blog Baby podcast cohost and resident draft geek Rory Anderson reset his draft board and started a new version of his three round 2014 NFL Mock Draft. Here are his round one thoughts, with the usual notes from editor Chase Ruttig.

#1 Houston Texans: Anthony Barr, OLB UCLA

Rory’s Take: It is said that Bill O’Brien is fond of bigger prototype quarterbacks and Schaub is similar to that. If there are any questions regarding the top end quarterbacks the Texans should look for another impact player and Barr is the most explosive pure 34 OLB and would fit Crennel’s system perfectly.

Chase’s Take: It is very much appearing that if the Houston Texans will be taking Clowney should they not draft a QB. Clowney might very well still be the best player in this draft regardless of position and new head coach Bill O’Brien might not be feeling Bridgewater like experts were earlier in the season. Rory has Barr here, and it is true that the UCLA product might be the best fit for the 3-4 defense. I just don’t see the #1 pick being spent on a pass rusher that isn’t Clowney personally.
