#4: Josh McCown
Age: 35
2013 Stats: 1829 yards, 13 TD,s, 1 INT, 66.5% completion, (5 starts)
Career Stats: 8827 yards, 50 TD’s, 45 INT’s, 59.4% completion
A good fit if…. You need a veteran in case of emergency.
Josh McCown enjoyed his best season as a pro in 2013 pairing up with wideouts Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery when Jay Cutler got hurt, but it should be noted that new Bears head coach Marc Trestman is a quarterback’s dream coach and had a system where it was easy for McCown to thrive. At 35 teams would have to be desperate to consider McCown as a starting option, but he could be a veteran who could be paired with a rookie QB. I just think that his moment in the sun was 2013 and he will likely go back to being the very serviceable backup that he is somewhere next year.
