Talib is the classic case of a talented player with off field issues going to New England and doing well. He has grown into a solid cornerback and the Patriot’s defense was different without him, but his off field issues require that there be a heavy structure in the locker room which is something the Raiders lack. That is not a negative, it is simply to say the Raiders expect their players to police themselves and it is hard to trust Talib to do so. Furthermore, Robert Kraft has expressed publically that the Patriots will work very hard to resign Talib and they most likely would. If not, outside of the off field issues, Talib has a skill set the Raiders would appreciate and would be interested in all things being equal.
