Add Rashad Jennings to the list of Oakland Raiders free agents who have strong interest from other teams heading into the 4:00 PM EST beginning to free agency.
According to CSNBayArea’s Fallon Smith, a league source has confirmed that the New York Giants have an offer for the running back as an option to improve upon Peyton Hillis who the Giants resigned to likely back up a potential free agent/draft addition.
Smith also reported that Jennings will be waiting on the Raiders to respond to the Giants offer:
League source: NY Giants have offered Rashad Jennings... he's waiting on Oakland to make their move now. #Raiders

Said yesterday #Raiders are major player for Jennings. Were never the only one. @FallonSmithCSN say NY Giants trying hard to lure him away.

A powerful and durable running back who can also do some receiving in the flats it is no surprise that the Giants are interested in adding Jennings into their system, but it is also very likely that if the offer is small enough that the Raiders will be interested in matching in an attempt to keep Jennings around. Taking over the starting job from an often injured Darren McFadden under a one year deal Jennings had success in Oakland, but in a market where running backs are continuing to be severely undervalued there is always the potential of letting the popular Jennings walk.
