#17 Oakland Raiders: Justin Gilbert, CB Ok. St (Trade down from #5 with Washington/Baltimore)
Rory’s Take: Yes the Raiders have Hayden and they signed Tarell Brown, but they need defensive backs. Gilbert is very similar to Hayden and can be a top flight tandem with Brown playing the slot in nickel situations. Also, Usama Young entered the NFL as a slot cornerback and can still perform that job.
Chase’s Take: This is some impressive trade down moving from the Raiders to #17 (It is always easy when it is a mock draft) and it gets the Raiders to a spot where they can address an absolute need with a second young, starting caliber cornerback in the draft on the cheap. After missing out on Desean Jackson, it may just be that Reggie McKenzie will hit the market of elite wideouts and avoid trading down this far altogether.
