#3 Detroit Lions (from Jaguars in exchange for #10, #45 in 2014 Draft): Sammy Watkins, WR Clemson

Rory’s Take: The Lions have been rumored to want to trade into the top five for Sammy Watkins. On its face it seems a little crazy, but if they want to take the Colts under Polian approach to team building which seems likely adding Watkins would be huge and Tate can be used in the slot in three wide formations.

Chase’s Take: Detroit seems hell bent on adding as many weapons as possible to gun their way into the playoffs, which is why many think they will trade up to get Sammy Watkins. For trading down just seven spots the Jaguars will be able to stay in the hunt for one of the top quarterbacks in the draft while adding a second round pick, even though I think they might demand more based on the sheer amount of hype Watkins has been getting as a can’t miss prospect.
