We all know how much the Oakland Raiders love to acquire Undrafted Free Agents (UDFA’s) and turn them into stars. Some of the more recent notable UDFA’s the Raiders have had on their starting roster include WR-Rod Streater, WR-Greg Jenkins, QB-Matt McGloin, DE-Ryan Robinson, OL-Lamar Mady, and CB-Chance Casey.
GM Reggie McKenzie may hope to find the next UDFA Hall of Famer, like DB-Willie Brown, but the jury will be out to deliberate on that for a while. In any event, it is promising to see some rare talent available from the undrafted side of the coin. One thing is for sure, Training Camp will have battles to make the 53-man roster, and not even a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th rounder, or current starter, are safe when it comes to building a successful franchise.
Those who want it bad enough will be kept, and those that think talent alone will win a spot will be cut. Work hard and learn fast, or be left out in the cold with the general population. That being said, let’s take a look at who the Oakland Raiders have brought in, so far, as a UDFA:
