Bottom Line

Right now, the Raiders still have Carr with the second team because they fear he may not be ready right away and that could destroy him like his brother. But I believe he is as ready as a rookie NFL quarterback can be with the background that he has with his brother coming before him. Plus there’s no way that Carr is going to get sacked 76 times this year because the Raiders No. 2 line is better than the one the Texans had in 2002.

Listen to our choices here!

We have an advanced, been raised in the game rookie with a cannon and accuracy but his inexperience could cause him to make bad decisions. Then there’s the accomplished, wily veteran that will make good decisions but his arm strength is waning and he never had a big arm to begin with. I’ll take a chance with the former because you can get picked off making good decisions when the ball stays in the air too long and there’s nothing to correct.

No one was happier than I was when Schaub became a Raider because he played hurt last year but now, his arm gives me concerns. Sure there are concerns to have about Carr and I don’t think anything should be given to him but they shouldn’t give Schaub anything either. As he looks like many athletes before him hanging on when it looks like it isn’t there for him anymore, you have to at least give the young guy a shot at his spot.

They can start by giving him a chance at some reps with the ones and I believe Carr can finish Schaub.

Just win baby!
