Sio Moore, Miles Burris Battle Should be Over

The battle between Miles Burris and Sio Moore for the starting weak side outside linebacker position is over. Moore has beasted out since training camp started, throwing tight ends on his own team like rag dolls. Then he continued making play after play in the preseason opener while Burris looked lost at times.

If it was just a motivational ploy to have Moore behind Burris early on in camp, it was effective because it wasn’t much of a battle. Moore is now working with the ones again and in the joint practice with Dallas, all reports say he still looks good. Burris, for his part, was giving up touchdown passes, showing that he’s still not a guy that you can depend on in coverage.

That puts Burris on the bench with defensive lineman Jack Crawford, offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom and receiver Juron Criner . So there are no starters from the 2012 draft class as the aforementioned players are four of the six from their draft class still with the Raiders. And as the Raiders keep making additions, we’ll see just how long the Class of 2012 lasts in Raider Nation.
