Aug 22, 2014; Green Bay, WI, USA; Oakland Raiders wide receiver James Jones (89) and head coach Dennis Allen talks to line judge Jeff Bergman after Jones

Bottom Line

There’s my final unofficial scorecard on these battles as Allen has some decisions to make. The decisions made here are going to decide what kind of year the Raiders are going to have this year. Chimdi Checkwa and D.J. Hayden will be back soon with Neiko Thorpe coming along so the defense is actually going to be really good.

On offense, unless Schaub miraculously heals, Carr needs to be ready to throw to Denarius Moore on the other side of Streater. Jones can’t get open on outside corners so he needs to be back in the slot and Butler needs a role somewhere. Tight end David Ausberry has been seen running around a little bit and when he get’s back, he’s going to get open.

Then there’s Barnes, who has always been the guy that you want when the guy you want isn’t there. Jackson is the guy you want so let these road graders go as the running game reaches the top of he NFL.  The Raiders could very well do it this year year with three starters coming from the 2014 draft class.

Allen just has to make all the right choices because this team is good.

One of those choices may have been made for him.
