Do Not Worry About the Oakland Raiders Defense

Bottom Line

Even though it didn’t look good in the preseason, the Raiders defense is going to be stingy this year. The whole front seven can get after the quarterback and and Tarver will use all of them to do just that. Once they get all their young, talented corners back and in bump-and-run coverage, there will be some quarterbacks going down hard.

And their reward will be a few interceptions as the result of the pressure that front seven will be bringing. The now and future is bright for Hayden, Thorpe and the late blooming Chekwa in the traditional Raiders bump-and-run. And once 4th-round pick Kieth McGill is back to 100 percent, he’s going to be a good bump-and run corner too.

And we haven’t even seen Justin Tuck get started as a Raider yet as he will free guys like Mack and Sio Moore up. And what we’ve seen from the season, it looks more like the Raiders have the 2008-2011 version of LaMarr Woodley. The defense as a whole will benefit for the running game too so if you’re a Raiders fan, don’t worry about the defense because they are getting healthy.

If you’re not a Raiders fan, don’t underestimate them.
