Neiko Thorpe is a corner that the Raiders coaching staff liked from when he first entered training camp this year. Defensive coordinator Jason Tarver said at a post practice press on Raiders.com conference Tuesday, “I’m impressed with the mental focus, he does one play at a time. This young man is focused, he wants it. He’s made a choice, he wants to be a part of this and that’s great. That’s what we want to be around.”

We haven’t seen much of him because he’s been out with a pulled hamstring but this love affair the staff has with him isn’t new. And from what I saw against the Green Bay Packers, I see why they love him so much as that’s what his whole camp must have been like. Thorpe was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs after making the team as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and went to Canada to work on his game last year.

I can’t wait to see how much that work pays off tonight.
