G.M. Reggie McKenzie has wanted a big-play receiver to go on the other side of No. 1 receiver Rod Streater for a while now. The reason why is he knew James Jones was a slot receiver but the coaching staff didn’t get the memo on that. Denarius Moore seems to have fallen so out of favor with the organization that he actually started training camp on the roster bubble.

But he blew past all of his competition so far an needs only to get past Jones to start next to Streater. Against that Packers, while Jones couldn’t get open, Moore had a nice, 40-yard catch and drew three pass interference penalties on Packers shut-down corner Sam Shields. Moore has shown that he can go underneath as well as deep this preseason and should have gotten himself back in favor with the organization by now.

He and Streater are the only receivers without a drop this preseason so playing well tonight could finish getting him there.
