Matt McGloin?

There was a large portion of Raider Nation that wanted to see Matt McGlion start going into the preseason finale. Woe to those people as they got to see the difference between McGloin playing against the twos instead of the threes. He threw a pick-6 and had another interception taken away by a penalty early on with the twos still in then went back to his heroic ways, engineering a touchdown drive against the threes.

He was 11-19 for 105 yards with a touchdown and an interception on the day and I’m not going to say he looked bad. He just isn’t Carr is as he compared favorably to McGloin besides playing against better defenses. McGloin was 39-69 for 471 yards, four touchdowns, one interception and rating of 90 to Carr’s 30-45 for 326 yards, four touchdowns, one interception and a rating of 108.

Raider Nation loves scrappers and underdogs but this is winning in the NFL, not the movie “Rudy.” There seems to be a sudden epidemic of Bruce Gradkowski-itis in Raider Nation while Carr is the real answer. All you have to do is remember that it didn’t end very well for Gradkowski and you’ll be cured.
