Rookie quarterback Derek Carr, who has just been named the starter, will lead his Oakland Raiders against the New York Jets. The Raiders will be massive underdogs in New York as they haven’t won a game on the east coast in four years. And now, the Raiders are taking a rookie quarterback to match wits with defensive wiz Rex Ryan and bravado with the big, bad Jets.
Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks is the only one of eight rookie quarterbacks that beat Ryan and his blitzing, head-banging Jets. Ryan is known to confuse, pressure and pound quarterbacks into submission with his blitzes and multiple looks. But I’m here to tell Raiders fans that this game is a setup to make Carr look like a hero when he beats Ryan and his overrated Jets.
