Don’t Park Carr

Belichick is going to do all he can to confuse Carr on both reading coverages and choosing protections to call. Allen needs to alleviate Carr of that at times by simply not parking him in the pocket all day to figure things out. He needs to move Carr out on bootlegs and waggles to avoid the pressure and to shrink the amount of reads he has on a play.

He throws well on the run anyway so it would be beneficial to Carr to use his athleticism to throw on the run out of the pocket. I would even give him a couple of plays where he has the green light to run if the first couple of reads aren’t there. Carr showed last week with a 41-yard run that running is something he can do and he has sense enough to get out of bounds.

He can even keep the backside defensive end honest on running plays if Carr is dialed up to run a few times in the game. But I as well as all of Raider Nation want to see more waggles and bootlegs to throw on the run rather than just running. With his arm and mobility, there’s no telling how many big plays with come out of Carr rolling out for a little extra time.
