No doubt, this was a tough loss with no moral victories but we did learn some good things about the Raiders. Burris can become a good inside linebacker and help the Raiders stop the run out as they stay in the 3-4 defense. Tuck looks good at 3-4 end then Moore (Sio) and Mack can come off the edges so Raider Nation can look forward to an explosive pass rush.

Plus it makes defensive coordinator Jason Tarver a better coordinator as 3-4 looks are what he designs his blitzes best in. And when Chekwa and Hayden get back, their bump-and-run coverage will force opposing quarterbacks to hold on to the ball longer. That will lead to sacks, pressures, errant throws, interceptions and a shut-down defense for the Raiders.

On offense, McFadden is back to full health and needs only not to run against eight and nine man fronts every play. Carr has already shown the Raiders to date that he can handle it so there’s no need to play small ball all of the time. But with Streater out and Moore losing the last game, the Raiders need to find a receiver to go with Jones to go deep down the field.

Will Moore get another shot?

Will Holmes get a chance to build off his 29-yard catch?
