Bottom Line

At 0-4, this season is a wash for the Raiders so now, the players are playing for pride, future contracts and bigger roles on the team. And the players from this article are some of which I believe should at least get some consideration for a bigger role on the team. Now is definitely the time to find out who’s who so the Raiders will know exactly what their needs are this offseason and what each priority level is.

Evaluating the talent that’s currently on your team is just as important as the draft and free agency but often gets overlooked.  And the only way you get to do so is to let them play—especially when you know your team isn’t going anywhere that year. With as many good players as the new regime let out of Raider Nation, I’m really hoping they learned their lesson.

If Mike Mitchell would have played instead of Matt Giordano, he might have made the Pro Bowl for the Raiders instead of the Carolina Panthers. Charles Woodson is still extremely athletic and still way better the what the Raiders have at corner so it could have worked. Joseph Barksdale is an elite tackle in the NFL that the Raiders drafted but they now have Khalif Barnes at right tackle instead. (that hurts)

I know the scheme switch had something to do with it but if the gave Barksdale a chance, he could have adapted like Barnes did. Along with Jared Veldheer and Carson Palmer, the Arizona Cardinals are the Southwest Raiders and killing it because head coach Bruce Arians is getting something out of they’re talents. Desmond Bryant now a Cleveland Brown, is just the 3-4 end the Raiders could have used along with Lamarr Houston and Justin Ellis at the nose.

Whoever is left of the new regime needs to give the guys they have a chance before they go off and help other teams win!

Just win baby!
