Over and over throughout the game Oakland’s offense would build momentum and march downfield just to get it halted by a dropped pass. This has been a problem all season, however when contrasted with an otherwise effective and dynamic offense it looked even more terrible. It cannot be overstated: these drops severely hurt the team. With catches in place of the drops the team would have more first downs, possible more points, and definitely fewer ended drives & less time for San Diego QB Philip Rivers to be on the field.
