Changes to Corner

It seems like every time the Raiders have a third down on defense, corner Tarrelle Brown gives up a catch for a first down. It used to be Carlos Rodgers but every since T.J. Carrie started ballin’, Rodgers has covered the slot and opposing offenses have gone at Brown. I don’t think he had a pass  defensed until he ended up getting two of them against the San Diego Chargers.

So it’s time for Brown to go sit down somewhere and for Sparano to hurry up and get 2013 1st-round pick D.J. in there. Sparano spoke of wanting him to be in football shape before doing that but playing football is how you get in football shape. If Sparano looks to get him four padded practices in four weeks, it’s going to be too late to save his job when he gets back.

The universal thinking is that Sparano is going to have to at least go 5-5 over the last 10 games to get his interim tag removed. And if the defense can’t get off the field on third down, they’re not going to win any games for the rest of the season. He needs to play and 7th-round gem T.J. Carrie on the other side of him if there’s going to be any hope for him to keep his job.
