Intangibles

His size, speed to power of ratio is freakish like Jadeveon Clowney but unlike Clowney Williams has toughness to go with it. He plays hurt like he did with a sprained ankle that many thought he couldn’t play with against the Cardinal early this season. It was Williams’ 11 tackles, one for a loss and a sack lifted his Trojans to an upset victory over the Cardinal too.

Toughness is always good and it’s even better when you come up with big plays for your team when it’s most needed. He did that big-time while lined up over projected 1st-round left tackle Andrus Peat on a critical 4th-and-goal at the one yard-line. The play was late in the third quarter of a physical game that the Trojans won 13-10 and don’t forget his sprained ankle.

Williams was a warrior in against the Cardinal back in 2013 too as he led his Trojans to a 20-17 victory with a torn labrum. He had seven tackles against the Cardinal and recovered a fumble in the last play of the game to help another upset.
