 How He Helps the Raiders

The Raiders defense becomes dominant the minute he walks in because they already have 2014 1st-round pick Khalil Mack. Mack has shown signs of being a dominant outside linebacker with all of his tackles for a loss as he doesn’t stay blocked. The Raiders then get the young stud on the defensive line that they haven’t had since Darrell Russell.

Williams would force teams to double-team him sometimes so Williams and Mack would take turns dominating games. He’s also a natural fit in the Raiders hybrid defense that would lean heavier on the 3-4 with the presence of Williams. And all five opposing lineman have to take some time out to prepare for him because he could line up over any one of them on a given play.

The Raiders have the least amount of sacks in the NFL and the worst run defense so Williams would be very useful. Nose tackle Justin Ellis has shown that he’s a run stuffer that has surprised with his ability to get to the quarterback too. Having Williams would make everyone one that defense better and if the Raiders added two solid inside  linebackers, the Raiders would have an even more dominant front seven.
