Bottom Line

Hayden is now back and looks like he’s going to be the player he was drafted to be so I had to re-introduce him. For those that called him damaged goods or say they shouldn’t have picked him based on his accident, “somebody done told you wrong!” (Martin Lawrence). His sports hernia and foot surgeries have not a thing to do with the heart surgery he had to save his life a couple of years ago.

If you look back on all his tape, you’ll see that he is definitely the most talented football player in the 2013 draft class. He had one more year after this one to be called a bust but if you look at him right now, you see bust is not D.J. Hayden. All he has to do is stay healthy and he’s going to develop into one of the best corners in the game like the Raiders are used to having.

All that talent is now under tutelage one of the best to ever do it in Charles Woodson, who’s now a free safety. McKenzie didn’t miss on this one as he has made a difference in just his first extended action to help the Raiders pass defense tighten up. With an injury to the veteran Rogers, Hayden had to see the field plenty and the Raiders found out he’s ready to ball.
