Oakland Raiders Can Make 2013 Draft Look Much Better

I caught Bill Romanowski on Oakland Raiders Postgame Live on CSNBC Sunday and he said some interesting things. He went on about general manager Reggie McKenzie’s job and how he got nothing out of his first two drafts. I love his passion as that’s what made him a great football player but don’t necessarily agree with his evaluation.
I’m not saying that every pick was a hit like 2014 seems to be but the more I see them, the 2013 class doesn’t look too bad. Sure, Menelik Watson is a project from the second round and should be on the bench with Austin Howard at right tackle. Tight end Mychal Rivera has a dropped pass in almost every game he played in and can’t block.
That group of players is making the 2013 class look pretty bad and that is mainly what Romanowski is going on right now. But there are other players from that draft that are pretty good but don’t get the opportunities that Watson and Rivera are getting so far. If these other players from the 2013 draft class actually got a decent look, the draft class would look a whole lot better.
