1. The Chiefs have once again been a strong regular season team, what are your thoughts on the 2014 Kansas City Chiefs? Is this a team that can finally give the fanbase a playoff win?

This is probably the best coached Chiefs team since Marty Schottenheimer was in Kansas City. For the Chiefs to be 7-3 and in a position to possibly win the division makes little sense given the number of injuries they’ve suffered to key players and the lack of depth at key positions like cornerback and on the offensive line. Yet somehow they keep scheming there way to wins.

How all of this translates into the playoffs, I don’t know. This 2014 team, even with the injuries, is better than the 2013 version, and that team had a 38-10 lead on the road in the playoffs. If Jamaal Charles or Knile Davis manage to stay healthy in that game, Kansas City probably doesn’t blow the lead. Alas…

Anyway, if the 2013 team was good enough to build a 38-10 lead on the road then this team can find a way to win a playoff game. Whether or not that actually happens – the Chiefs winning a playoff game – is something I’ll need to see first before I believe it. Waiting for 20 years and counting on a playoff win will leave one jaded in these scenarios.
