Oakland Raiders 2014 Draft Class Shines in Season Defining Win

Round 2: Derek Carr

Rookie quarterback Derek Carr has finally figured things out and no longer looks like a rookie quarterback. He spoke at the postgame press conference of how much he has grown and how the game has slowed down for him and it shows. He was as relaxed as I’ve ever seen him in the pocket as a pro as he didn’t look to get rid of the ball too soon.

Instead, he waited confidently for his routes down the field to break open and he delivered an accurate ball to them. On the day, Carr was 22-28 for 254 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions, and a quarterback rating of 140.2. Imagine what Carr is going to do with receiver Rod Streater and whoever they draft at receiver for next year.
