What He’s Inheriting

If Harbaugh became the Raiders’ head coach, he would be inheriting quarterback Derek Carr, whom he likes a lot aleady. He would be able to do more with Carr’s talent than he did with Alex Smith, who looked like a bust before his arrival. Then he has a big running back in Latavius Murray to pound the defense like Frank Gore but Murray has breakaway speed too.

On defense, he’s working with some great young pieces in T.J. Carrie and D.J. Hayden at the corners and Justin Ellis at nose tackle. Then of course, there’s outside linebackers, Sio Moore and Khalil Mack with strong safety Tyvon Branch coming back from injury. Woodson is there for a couple of years at free safety so all Harbaugh would need is some inside linebacker help for a strong, young, core on defense.

So Harbaugh would have something to work with.
