Bottom Line

Schefter’s sources are usually right so I’m going to say that Davis is ready to go all in on a head coach that can turn things around. And Harbaugh is the guy that can do that as he turned a 1-10 Stanford team into a Pac-12 powerhouse. Then he went to the 49ers after a 6-10 season and went to 3-straight NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl.

He’ll have quarterback Derek Carr as his toy and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will have Khalil Mack as his. Harbaugh’s name will attract other necessary help to the team and maybe a new stadium in Oakland too. Then of course, the Raiders have two tough games left so they will likely pick in the top-3 when the 2015 NFL Draft comes along in May.

McKenzie didn’t do very well in retaining players and getting good free agents to the Raiders but he had two good drafts. This year’s draft was especially a hit so Harbaugh might be able to work with him or keep him as a personnel man. But the most important thing here is it looks like Harbaugh is coming to town and he’ll be in charge so the turnaround is coming.

I didn’t think this could happen at first but I’m drinking the Kool-Aid by the gallons now, Jim Harbaugh is going to coach the Oakland Raiders and if a deal doesn’t get done I would be extremely surprised as it appears close to inevitable that the Raiders won’t be acquiring the services of the Niners head coach.
