Mike Shanahan-Free Agent: Former Redskins, Denver and Raiders Head Coach
While Shanahan appears a long shot, he still received some serious consideration from Mark Davis. The news was shocking and created a divide in Raider Nation. As Raiders fans you either fall on one side of the fence or the other with Mike Shanahan;
“If he can help the Raiders win football games that’s all that matters. Al Davis’ beef was well over 25 years ago, water under the bridge. Or…..Hiring Mike Shanahan would show complete disrespect to the memory of Al Davis and the history of the Raiders, he should never be the coach of the Raiders.”
I tend to side with the last one. My loyalty will not let me see Mike Shanahan on the Raiders sidelines. In the meantime Shanahan has reportedly interviewed with the 49ers as well. It appears Shanahan is looking for complete control of personnel and more power than either the Raiders or 49ers would be willing to give.
