Background:
A five-star defensive end recruit in High School, Dante Fowler Jr. played both end and outside linebacker during his time with the Florida Gators.
Fowler appeared in all 13 of Florida’s games as a Freshman, recording 30 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. In his Sophomore season, Fowler registered 50 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He was also named a Team Captain towards the end of the season.
In 2014, Fowler dropped about 15 pounds in weight, down to 261. His efforts paid off in a big way as he notched 60 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks and he also forced two fumbles. Fowler’s performance earned him first-team All-SEC honors.
