Running Game

The sun has clearly set on the great career of Maurice Jones-Drew and Darren McFadden is still explosive but isn’t patient. We’ve only seen the dawn of the career of Murray, who’s speed and power alone make him special. But what really makes him special is his vision and patience to let plays develop.

Head coach Jack Del Rio and offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave like to play smash-mouth football. They can do that and have a breakaway threat in one guy with the 6’3″, 230-pound, 4.3-40 running Murray. I’m not calling McFadden a part of the foundation at this point but he would be a really good backup to Murray.

Murray better get ready for this coming year because Musgrave doesn’t play with his running backs. Once Murray earns the job, he’s going to give Murray the ball until his tongue starts hanging out so I expect a big year. With a few carries under his belt and an improved offensive line, I see a good 1,300 out of Murray, barring an injury.
