Oakland Raiders Watching For Speed at the Combine

 Sammie Coates

At 6’2″, 200 pounds, Auburn Tigers receiver prospect Sammie Coates is a big boy himself. And he has reportedly been clocked at a blistering 4.25 in the 40-yard dash to open up some eyes. He’s actually opened up some eyes on the field because he easily blows past defenders to make big plays.

He’s even done it with a big, bulky, hindering knee brace on so I’m really curious about this one. He was projected to go in the first round a few months ago but fell out of the first round since. The Raiders should be watching for him because he’s worth looking at in the second round even if he’s a full tenth slower.

But if Coates runs a 4.25 at the combine, he will get himself back in the first round, somewhere at the bottom. That’s just to big, long and fast for all 32 teams to not take a chance on him in Round, 1. The Raiders surely won’t take him at No. 4 overall but they will keep track of him as the picks go along.
