Leonard Williams, DE, USC: 97
Pros: He has the size, stregnth, and agility to be an absolute monster for any team. Leonard is scheme diverse and can fill multiple roles in several schemes. His natural position is that of a 5 tech in a 34 defense, although playing his as a 7 tech in a base 43 and a nickel inside pass rusher is also very viable.
Williams could be a starting three technique in a 43 defense. He has a stellar first step, uses his hands well, and penetrates extremely well. I love his motor.
Cons: I worry about Williams’ pad level at times and his height being an issue inside versus the run. He also tends to disappear at times and this correlates to a lack of tackles for loss in the run game. I want to see a true counter move to go with his exceptional rip.
