Decisions, Decisions, Decisions..

Sure, Randal Cobb could have joined Derek Carr for the next decade, but can you blame him for wanting to play with a proven and consistent MVP quarterback? Aaron Rogers guided Cobb to a handful of multi-TD games last year that ended with Pro Bowl honors. The choice made by Cobb emulates the players that Reggie wants to draft and bring in to through the Raiders free agency period. Honestly, this breaking news probably made Reggie McKenzie chuckle a little.

When it comes to players and general managers making decisions, they have to consider the state of the team. Although the Raiders need to spend, spend, spend this off-season, what’s the point if the players don’t really want to be in Oakland? Should we turn the other cheek in this situation? Is it too much to ask to pay a center that has endured the losing culture? Should they feel like they should be compensated for that? At times, I’ve felt like I deserve some sort of refund, but I don’t say: “or else..”

Recent players in the Raider organization haven’t had a reason to want to stick around, but they haven’t wanted to either. The stereotype that Al Davis created towards the end of his run became a reality that was hard to swallow for many members of The Only Nation. Not only has it been easy to point the finger at our own, it’s been difficult to accept the decade-long joke that the rest of the NFL continues to laugh about. I guess we can’t blame the players that want more for their services, but we also shouldn’t beg them. Beggars can’t be choosers, and I think we should definitely be choosing right now. We can’t go back to this..

It’s been continuously proven as ineffective. Ask the Bucs who could have been crowned free agency queens last season. They’re drafting #1 is the fact of the matter..
