With their second of three picks in the seventh round, the Raiders selected receiver Andre Debose. After finding the next Brown in the first round, McKenzie just might have found the next Cliff Branch in the seventh. His name is Andre Debose and he was darn-near a world-class sprinter in high school (10.4 100 meters).

He’s not the biggest receiver in the world but he has blazing speed and can get it in the return game. But before he could get his career started, he had to have surgery on a hamstring he had previously damaged in a high school track meet. Debose then came back and did his thing returning kicks and punts but tore his ACL for another setback to miss the 2013 season.

He didn’t get a chance to do much in 2014 as a receiver but he was still good in the return game. That’s what Branch was originally drafted for back in 1972 in the fourth round and what Debose is with the Raiders for now. The fact that he ran a 4.35 40 inside of two years after a torn ACL tells you what kind of speed he has. Like most players recruited in Florida, Debose wasn’t brought to the Gators because he was moderately fast. He was recruited to the SEC because he has speed to burn and that will only help his chances of making the 53 man roster.

He wants a crack at receiver with the Raiders too so keep an eye out for the Gators talent starting in Rookie Minicamp this weekend.
. WR. Florida. Andre Debose. 7. player. 28
