With Mack making the move to a nearly full time defensive end or Leo, this opens up a spot for someone new at the strong side linebacker spot. It is true that Moore played some Sam as a rookie, however his position was very interchangeable with the weak side linebacker as well.

Not to mention, he made many mental mistakes in coverage playing the Sam (the linebacker that lines up over the tight end). With all that in mind, and the recent addition of Malcom Smith, Moore seems like the best candidate to step in there. Smith is an undersized and natural weak side linebacker. In the middle will be Curtis Lofton, but do not expect him in on passing downs unless he shocks everyone with his wheels.
