Offensive Line

Last year, the offensive line was considered a team strength and it only got stronger for this year. Left guard Gabe Jackson started to look like a dominant player late last year and he’s improved. Then left tackle Donald Penn, who came back strong last year, looked pretty good on Friday.

Needing to improve on the right side, the Raiders improved from center to right tackle this offseason. It all starts with center Rodney Hudson, who’s a massive upgrade over Stefen Wisniewski. Former tackle J’Marcus Webb has come in and given the Raiders a major upgrade at right guard.

And right tackle Menelik Watson looks like he’s majorly upgraded himself with his improvement. Getting coached by the best o-line coach in the business has to have something to do with it. This is a big, physical group that didn’t look like it had problems with the Rams’ notorious front-four.
