Receiver

To complete the triplets of this offense, Amari Cooper showed up Friday with a couple of catches. You can see from camp videos that corners will to have a hard time covering him one-on-one. And on Friday night, he showed that he knows how to settle into the soft spot of a zone defense.

They used him on reverses, intermediate passes and short passes but still didn’t overexpose him. But you know at some point, he’s going to beat some guys on deep routes, the Raiders may be saving for the regular season. One good thing about Cooper is the Raiders have another Biletnikoff Award winner in Michael Crabtree on the other side.

After not looking to good last year after tearing his Achilles tendon, he is back at full strength now. So doubling Cooper is going to get out beat by Crabtree and vice versa as they’re both great route runners. Any quarterback would be happy to have Cooper and Crabtree to throw to when they drop back to pass.
