PFF Stats Breakdown
Here’s the list of all the defensive players and their PFF grades, with a few honorable mentions.
- Khalil Mack: +7.6
- Justing Tuck: +2
- T.J. Carrie: +1.7
- Charles Woodson: +1.6
- Denico Autry: +1.3 – Autry finished the day with 1 hit, hurry and a batted pass.
- Curtis Lofton: +1.2
- Malcolm Smith: +1.1 – Malcolm lead the team in solo tackles with 7, also grabbed a QB sack, and 5 stops.
- Ben Heeney: +5
- Neiron Ball: +.3 – While he only playedthree3 snaps, he made them count, by grabbing his first NFL sack in the final drive of the game.
- Dan Williams: +.1
- Larry Asante: -.3
- Ray Ray Armstrong: -.5 – Another player with limited snaps making the most of every rep. Ray Ray played nine snaps, but still recorded a QB sack.
- Stacy McGee: -.8
- Mario Edwards Jr.: -1.3
- C.J. Wilson: -1.4
- D.J. Hayden: -1.5 – D.J.’s -1.7 pass coverage grade was the highest among all cornerbacks for the Raiders. With Carrie potentially switching to safety, the CB position is left with even more of a void. Hayden will need to step up into a larger role if the Raiders are going to ever improve their week pass coverage.
- Neiko Thorpe: -1.7
- David Amerson: -1.7 – I’m giving him a bit of a pass since he only had a few practices with the team prior to playing 35 snaps in his first game with the Raiders on Sunday.
- Aldon Smith: -2.9 – Smith was kept in check most of the game, and adding 2 penalties that knocked his grade down 1.8 points, it’s easy to see why his grade is so low. Aldon may not be showing up on the stat sheet, but like Tuck, offenses need account for him on every play, he’s capable of being a one-man wrecking crew and depending on how his off the field situation pans out I think he’ll be just fine and start showing up on the stat lines much more.
