Donald Penn

Over the last two weeks, Donald Penn has an overall grade of +6.1 from Pro Football Focus. That makes him the 2nd highest rated Left Tackle in the league over that time span. If not for a -1.4 grade in the penalty department, Penn would have an overall grade of +7.5.  (enough for first place)

In Pass Blocking, Penn is the highest rated left tackle in the league with a +4.3 grade, and the 2nd highest rated Left Tackle in Run Blocking with a +3.2 grade.

Penn was outstanding in his first season with the Raiders last year, grading higher than the left tackle he replaced in Jared Veldheer over the 2014 season per PFF. The veteran left tackle has helped fans get over the departure of the homegrown Veldheer as general manager Reggie McKenzie has found a cheaper replacement who could be argued is an upgrade not just in value, but in talent as Donald Penn has been the team’s best offensive lineman through his first 19 regular season games with the team dating back to last season.
