Added help on defense

Outside linebacker Aldon Smith was an unexpected add to the Raiders defense. The San Francisco 49ers released him for being a repeat offender being charged with a DUI. He was just arraigned on Tuesday for and we are all waiting to see what his punishment is going to be.

The Raiders are confident nothing is going to come of this because Smith maintains he wasn’t driving, hence, he refused to take a breathalyzer test. So we will all find out a whole lot more about the situation sometime in early November. If Smith is telling the truth, the chances are nothing will happen and the Raiders will keep the star pass rusher.

Meanwhile, the Raiders brought him in and he didn’t do much early as he didn’t have a training camp. Then in Week 4, against the Bears, he was back in form with six solo tackles, one for a loss, a sack, a pass batted down and a quarterback hit. He now gives the Raiders two threats off the edge as they enter the tough part of their schedule.
