Amari Cooper vs Aqib Talib

Aqib Talib is a solid corner but at the same time, he’s the most overrated corner in the NFL right now. Everyone loves to give him credit for being a shut-down corner but he just isn’t that guy. He’s so overrated that back in 2012, he was given a positive grade by Pro Football Focus for a game he gave up 168 yards.

I’ll just say there’s a reason why the New England Patriots let him walk and signed Darrelle Revis for more money. Talib isn’t as good as Joe Haden is and you saw what Cooper did to him back in Week 3. You should have seen what Vikings receiver Stephon Diggs was doing to him as he touched the Broncos up for 87 yards on six catches.

If they have Talib on him all game, he’s going to need help over the top but with all those blitzes Phillips runs, something has to give. Either way, Haden couldn’t stay with Cooper one-0n-one so if Phillips is foolish enough to try that with Talib, the Raiders will win that battle. But I think at least at some point, he’ll do something to take Cooper away, opening things up for others.
