What are the Oakland Raiders biggest needs entering the bye?

Right Guard

Right tackle has already been mentioned as a position of need, and the team isn’t in much better shape at right guard.

No guard in the NFL with as many snaps as J’Marcus Webb have graded worse on PFF this season. But you don’t need a PFF grade to tell you that it’s been a struggle for the right side of the offensive line.

Penn and Big Gabe anchor the left side of the line and Hudson has been solid in the middle. There has been very little pressure coming from that side, and that’s where most of the push happens in the run game as well.

It seems anytime that Carr takes a sack, or a run play gets stopped for a loss, it’s because of a lapse from the right side of the line.

Webb is a free agent after the season, and while he could definitely come back, it shouldn’t be as anything more than a reserve.

The Raiders did draft Jon Feliciano in the 4th round, but he’s been slotted in at backup center primarily. If he couldn’t beat out Webb for the right guard spot, that doesn’t provide much confidence that he can be the answer going forward. He is just a rookie of course so we’ll have to wait and see how he does when given the opportunity.

As far as potential upgrades, both of Baltimore’s guards (Marshall Yands and Kelechi Osemele) are outstanding and set to be free agents. It would be a surprise if either of them ended up leaving though, so this is another position that the team will likely look into via the draft.
