PFF Defensive Grades

Honorable Mentions are in Bold:

  • Khalil Mack: +7
  • Denico Autry: +3.8
  • Charles Woodson: +2.2
  • Malcolm Smith: +1.9
  • Ray-Ray Armstrong: +1.6
  • Curtis Lofton: +1.3 – Lofton played the best overall game as a Raider against the Jets. His +1.2 in Run Defense is the highest he’s graded this season, and in coverage there wasn’t an attempt made on a receiver he was covering. That indicates to me he was doing a pretty solid job.
  • Dan Williams: +1.2
  • Neiko Thorpe: +.9
  • David Amerson: +.7
  • Taylor Mays: +.2
  • Ben Heeney: +.1
  • D.J. Hayden: +.1 – Last week he got an interception, this week a QB sack, Hayden is slowly but surely improving every week.  Playing smarter in situational football. His sack wasn’t a devastating, come out of nowhere sack, he was spying on Geno Smith after the play had broken down, and pursued him out of bounds. The great thing about that is he was cautious enough to know the Smith is very mobile so his first goal was containment, then having the field awareness to know he wouldn’t be abandoning a coverage assignment if he attacked Smith was very impressive.
  • Justin Ellis: -.1 – Ellis only played 16 snaps, seems like the coaches are easing him back in after his ankle injury.
  • T.J. Carrie: -.2
  • Benson Mayowa: -.6
  • Aldon Smith: -.6
  • Stacy McGee: -1.2
  • Larry Asante: -1.4
  • Mario Edwards Jr: -1.5
